TAM CONSTRUCTION COMPANY, Inc., in its continuing search for a good location for its unique condominium design, finally located an ideal building site. . . just three city blocks from the famous Las Olas Boulevard, and only three hundred yards from the ocean on the Intracoastal Waterway. TAM decided this was the property for its Portofino Condominium.

The Portotino, which began construction in 1981 and completed in the fall of 1982, was immediately successful . . . not only to its superb location, but also to the apartment design. Each apartment is a “walk through” — with the west side overlooking the Intracoastal and the east side, the ocean. Each elevator serves only two apartments at a particular floor level. All bathrooms are air-conditioned and vented to the outside. The washer/dryers and the kitchen ranges are also vented to the outside. The entire building is monitored with the most sophisticated smoke and fire alarm system installed in any high rise building.

In endeavoring to remain a qualified builder, TAM has continuously insisted upon quality materials and workmanship from all of its sub-contractors. This is evident in the rapid sell-out of most of the units.
